I was considering a contract extension in Trenton when I got word of a position at Fort Frontenac, Kingston. At the very least it would be a shorter commute and that would be an extra 2 hours a day I'd get to spend with my lovely wife and beautiful daughter. It turned out the Fort was within throwing distance of our house less than a 5 minute walk -- in fact I can see the flagpole from my kitchen window as I type this. Funny thing is until I began to work there I was oblivious to it's existince. The gates on the right are the gates I walk through every day on the way to work. The beautifully sculpted grounds lead down to the water and Royal Military College across the bay. In spring and all through summer the air smells of fresh cut grass and whatever may be in bloom at the time. Below is a little interactive map of the fort I've been toying with --mouse over the buildings to learn more about them.
